   Year Graduated: 1965

Graduating from BCI in 1965, I spent the better part of my first year out working at the Alcan smelter in Kitimat, B.C. I began my quest for an Education degree in 1966. Diane Owen and I married in 1968 and we lived in Marsden for a couple of years where I began my teaching career and we began a family, a boy, Vince, and a girl, Lori. I returned to university to finish my degree and in 1972 graduated and obtained a teaching position in Swift Current. In 1976, Diane was diagnosed with a terminal illness and 1977 found us returning to the Battlefords to be near family. Diane passed away in l980.

I began teaching at the North Battleford Comprehensive High School in 1980 and remained there until I retired in 1999 (I actually took over for Hoosh when he retired). In 1982, Barbara Woodall entered our lives as my wife and stepmother to my children.

My son works at a fish hatchery for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in Kitimat, B.C. He lives there with his wife Angie and three daughters. Daughter Lori followed the Sealy tradition and became a teacher. She works in Leduc, Alberta and lives with her husband Dwayne and their son and daughter.

Barbara and I enjoy retirement from our teaching careers - golfing and visiting family in B.C., Alberta and England. Vi Sealy, who taught many alumni, retired in 1976 and passed away in 1999 at age 91.
